Boquete in the Highlands

Back

Boquete, in the Chiriqui Province of Panama, is a delightful village in a beautiful valley.  It sits in the shadow of the extinct Baru volcano, approximately 50 miles from the Costa Rican border.  The area is renowned for it's award-winning coffee, and flowers abound around every corner.  It is a fast growing retirement and ex-patriot community.  With an elevation of 2500 to 4000 feet, it is blessed with near perfect weather...65 to 75 degrees year-round.  Go to http://boquete.chiriqui.org/index.html and http://www.boqueteweather.com/ to find out more about this beautiful village in the interior highlands of Panama.

Flowers of December  All of these flowers are in the yard of the house we were renting while building at Cielo Paraiso.  While the snows fly in so many parts of the world in December, we are surrounded by a riot of color and beauty during the holiday season.  Of course, flowers bloom year-round, so anytime is a beautiful time in Boquete.

Holiday Tradition La Estrella, a community close to Cielo Paraiso, consists of several families, church, and of course a small school.  The residents of Cielo have 'adopted' the school and make the Holidays brighter for the children, and their families.  The photos show the smiles and happiness.  Enjoy!
